Molly

Molly is our on-board marine biologist.  She has a BSc in Marine Biology and Oceanography and is currently reading for her PhD in Marine Sciences. She is interested in species distribution patterns: where things go in the marine environment and why.

Although her current research focusses on plankton (the really small stuff), she’s also fascinated by charismatic megafauna (the bigger animals like seals, dolphins, sharks and whales), and gets just as excited as our passengers when we spot them on our tours.

Molly has completed her RYA competent crew and powerboat level 2 and is working towards her day skipper.

Her knowledge on the marine environment ranges from the weird to the wonderful, and she’s always happy to answer questions from passengers on our wildlife trips.

Ray

Ray was raised in Brighton before moving to Devon where he served 30
years as a Police Officer settling in Teignmouth with his family.

He is a boat owner himself and has many years of experience at sea. He
holds RYA Yachtmaster, Day Skipper, VHF marine radio, Sea Survival &
First Aid qualifications.

Ray has traveled extensively and is passionate about all forms of marine
& wildlife which goes hand in hand with his keen interest in photography.

Ziggy Austin

Lifetime local and South Devon water sport enthusiast, if he’s not on the water surfing or paddling then he’s generally under it scuba diving, caving or foraging.

Ziggy loves the south Devon coast and has researched its natural history, he enjoys re-telling stories and legends from the area and dragging as many people out to explore it as possible.

Founder of Rock Solid Coasteering and winner of Come Dine With Me, there’s banter in buckets when Ziggy’s around. He teaches science at secondary level when he’s not in neoprene.
